AJMI concludes the "Garangao" Photography Course

On the occasion of Garangao, Al Jazeera Media Institute concluded in collaboration with Blue Salon, the Children’s Photography Training Course in the period between 14-18 May; with 8 female trainees and 4 male trainees from the State of Qatar.

Eman Al Amri, Director of Planning and Projects at the Institute, considered cooperation with the Blue Salon as fruitful and effective for the second year in a row, and looked forward to new cooperation.

The course produced excellent works by participants, and the work of the contestants were displayed on the Institute's digital platforms. The course also includes a competition to be held on the occasion of Garangao, in which the trainees compete to take photos of the children in a creative way and put to test what they have been practicing throughout the course. The awards are presented by Fuji for the best 3 photos.

The course, sponsored by the Blue Salon, was offered by Qatari photographer Abdullah Hamdan Al Mannai. Participants were trained on how to take photos of children on the occasion of Garangao in a creative way revealing excellence and fun at the same time.

Abdullah is an expert in photography with distinctive skills light control. Abdullah is a member of the American Society of Photography. Also, he has got several international awards, including first place in the three themes in the photography completion of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage in 2006. In addition, he won the bronze medal in the UAE photo portrait photography contest in 2009.
