MOU with the Education City Mosque in Qatar

Al Jazeera Media Institute – Doha

Al-Jazeera Media Institute signed, on Monday, April 9, 2018, a memorandum of cooperation with Qatar Foundation’s Education City Mosque.

Mounir Al-Daimi said, in a press conference yesterday, that the relationship between Al-Jazeera Media Network and the Education City Mosque is deep-rooted. He expressed his happiness for this connection which will certainly contribute to the benefit of Qatari community. He added that this goal has started to be attained in the past few years, and it was further emphasized after the blockade.

Al-Daimi said that Qatar Foundation is a pioneer with world-class cutting edge standards. He added: "We are inspired by many good practices. We are not only considering training, we want to become an institution that will benefit local institutions in creating their media strategies." Following the blockade, we noticed that many of these institutions were not ready to respond to the slander and clarify their own views. Hence, We want to contribute with them in the creating and formulating their policies and media strategies, and this is what we are keen to offer to many institutions”.

Mohammed al-Gharbani, Head of Islamic Affairs at the Education City Mosque, said the agreement would open up many areas of cooperation for both sides. He pointed out that the Education City Mosque is part of Qatar Foundation. He added that the mosque provides a variety of services to the community. He stressed that the agreement will expand in the future to include cooperation between Al Jazeera Media Network and Qatar Foundation.

The MoU includes media training, in order to benefit from the training courses included in the annual program of the Institute, in addition to special courses, media consultations, seminars, conferences and joint workshops.
