Peter Greste

 

Greste has worked for BBC, Reuters, CNN, and WTN. He covered the emergence of the Taliban and post-9/11 war in Afghanistan.
From 2005, he was a correspondent for Al Jazeera English in Africa. In 2011, he won the Peabody Award for his documentary, “Somalia: Land of Anarchy”. Greste and two of his Al Jazeera colleagues were arrested in Egypt in December 2013, on suspicion of illegally broadcasting news and harming “domestic security”. After spending 400 days in prison, Greste was set free.
