Course Description

"You can't talk about direction without talking about creativity and vision." Visual works are produced by a team of creative people such as editor, photographer, screenwriter, lighting director, and others.
Everyone has a clear and tangible role except the director, who has no clear work except to collect all these creations in a specific order to embody his visual vision in the work he does. He leads and manages the work in all its stages. So is the TV director who must embody his creativity, whether directly specialized in live programs or news and talk shows. This course will focus on news and program direction and will provide trainees with skills ranging from management, creativity, innovation and art, and will lay the groundwork for future directors.

Course Objective

By the end of this course, participants will:
• Identify the basics of TV direction.
• Use direction techniques for television news.
• Apply direction mechanisms for talk shows.

Course Outline

• Introduction to TV direction:
- Principles and rules of TV direction.
- The director's role and distinguishing qualities.
- Work with the news bulletin and program production team.

• TV news bulletins direction:
- Direct and implement various types of bulletins with one or more presenters correctly.
- Deal with guests, and the direction with multiple cameras or single camera.
- Handle news when introducing guests via satellite, inside the studio, or over the phone.
- Incorporate the reporters into the news bulletin, confirm the news and utilize their information.

• TV talk shows direction:
- Direct various talk shows formats and their connections to news or events.
- Manage reporters and guest interviews in news-related programs.
- Deal with dialogues and discussions in event-related programs.
- Direction mechanisms with a single camera or multiple cameras.
