AJMI SIGNS AN MOU WITH CISCO ON “CLASSROOM OF THE FUTURE”

The Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cisco International on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the Al Jazeera's pavilion in the Web Summit Qatar 2024, held in Doha.

The MoU was signed by the Director of the Al Jazeera Media Institute, Eman Al Amri, and Cisco's Senior Vice President for Global Innovation, Guy Diedrich. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both sides.

The MoU provides for building a reference “Classroom of the Future" that allows AJMI to enhance and standardize the learning experience for their trainees worldwide so that blended and hybrid learning is enabled. This Classroom of the Future will incorporate audiovisual environment and enhanced remote and in-person learning. Training sessions for trainers to effectively utilize new technology will be provided as well by Cisco.

Eman Al Amri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, expressed her delight with signing this agreement and said: "We are delighted by this agreement, as it holds great potential for the advancement of technology within our institute. It lays the foundation for the implementation of sophisticated mechanisms and strategies, transforming our training halls into intelligent and contemporary spaces."

Dr. Guy Diedrich, Senior Vice President, Global Innovation Officer, said: “What a great honor and pleasure to be here today to sign the MoU that will allow us to create the Classroom of the Future together with Al Jazeera Media Institute. Creating a unique experience for the students is very important to Cisco, and I know it is to Al Jazeera as well.

“It will allow us to take the students' experience to a new height. We will be able to enable greater access to those students, great education, and great technology through the Al Jazeera Media Institute," he added.​​
