Al Jazeera Fellowship Program: A total of 48 journalists benefited from Fellowship program in 8 years

Al Jazeera Media Institute launched in 2018 Al Jazeera Fellowship Program has been as a specialized research platform to allow journalists to devote themselves to research and study fundamental issues related to media profession. Over eight editions of the program, a total of 48 journalists from 27 countries joined this program, which confirms and reflects diversity of journalistic experience that have been reaped from researches presented.
Al Jazeera Fellowship Program has contributed to a huge in-depth studies around digital transformation in Arab journalism, challenges facing media organizations, professional ethics, as well as new journalism schools and artificial intelligence applications in journalism.
In this context, Mohammed Khamaysa, supervisor of Al Jazeera Fellowship Program, stressed that the program provided a unique opportunity for journalists in the Arab world to research pressing media issues isolated from daily work pressure, which strengthened development of journalistic thought and the process of promoting innovation in journalism profession. He added that the fellowship program encourages academic research and provides an opportunity for journalists and researchers to learn about practical experiences and study them in depth. This would definitely contribute, in cooperation with the efforts of many Arab and international institutions, to improve the profession of journalism and facilitate crossing into the future.
With the launch of the new edition – Al Jazeera Fellowship 2025 – the program continues its role in supporting media literacy. It is noteworthy that all research programs are available free of charge on the official website of the Institute.
