Sarah Samuel-Ayyash
Independent journalist, researcher, and lecturer at Mount Royal University.
As a journalist, she specialises in media critique, examining media language and framing in the international media landscape. Her academic research and teaching focus on a decolonial critique of the power structures inherent in the fields of media and technology, with a particular emphasis on Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen-AI) tools and social biases in language and visual outputs.
Currently, she is working on a project that explores the intersections of AI-led digital activism and the (mis) representation of Palestinians with respect to data and digital colonialism.
Her journalistic work has appeared in Al Jazeera Journalism Review, Ricochet Media, THIS Magazine, The Hoser, and the Arab Canadian Institute, among others.
