The Institute organizes a roundtable on "Women journalists in war time"

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, Thursday, March 6, Al Jazeera Media Institute organized a roundtable under the title "Women journalists in war time ".

The Zoom discussion featured a number of women journalists who were involved in field coverage of war zones, where they play act professional and humanitarian challenges they faced while covering news in hostile environments.
The media session was moderated by Raghda Jamal, and co-participants include the Sudanese journalist Afrah Taj Al-Khatam, Palestinian journalist Ruba Al-Ajrami and Syrian journalist Zainab Afifeh, who presented first-hand testimonies about their experience while covering war news, as well as revealing distress and pressures they face as female journalists in such circumstances.

The roundtable was held at the meeting room of Al Jazeera Media Institute, in the presence of a number of colleague journalist and those interested in media affairs. This event comes within the framework of the Institute's commitment and intention to shed light on journalism issues and concerns in conflict areas and to reinforce the role of women in media landscape.
