Course Description

That’s why strategic planning is essential for any organization seeking long-term success. This course helps participants define direction, allocate resources wisely, and align departments toward shared goals. Learners will explore the latest tools, models, and frameworks used in modern strategic planning, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions, mitigate risks, and respond to change with confidence.
Course Objective
By the end of this course, participants will:
• Define strategic planning and its key components, models, and practical significance.
• Explain tools and methods of strategic analysis and how to apply them.
• Develop core elements of a strategic plan, including mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives.
• Build a strategic business model and design different types of organizational structures.
• Formulate contingency and alternative planning strategies to manage uncertainty.
• Build strategic communication plans and their basic components.
Course Outline
• Basic introduction and concepts:
- Definition of strategic planning and important scientific terms.
- Difference between strategic planning, strategic thinking, and strategic management.
- Elements of strategic planning.
- Different models of strategic planning.
• Strategic analysis:
- Matrices: ANSOF, Share and Growth, and GE.
- PEST Analysis and its various extensions.
- Analysis of Porter's five forces.
- Competitors analysis and benchmarking table preparation.
- SWOT analysis and development of TOWS matrix.
• Basic strategic plan:
- Determine strategic goals and general objectives.
- Develop main and sub-strategies.
- Agree on the system of values and principles and their behavioral indicators.
- Write the mission according to the specifications of the successful mission.
- Define the vision and develop strategic indicators, taking into account the spirit of the balanced scorecard methodology.
• Strategic business model:
- Philosophy of functional structures, basics of formation and types.
- Identify the main Lines of Business (LOBs) according to the vision.
- Design core work units and their key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Strategic mechanisms and initiatives and their types.
• Main attachments of the strategic plan:
- Emergency plan and methodology for developing alternative plans.
- Communication plan and strategic relations.
- Analysis of reality and gaps and preparation of the central training plan.
- Interim plans, implementation and follow-up plan.
- Estimated financial budgets.
