Course Description

The "Arabic and Media for Youth" program is an intensive one-week training program (five consecutive days) delivered by the Arabic Language Learning Department at Al Jazeera Media Institute. It combines Modern Standard Arabic learning with the development of media skills in a single interactive educational experience. The program is grounded in an educational approach that recognizes that language is not acquired through memorization and instruction alone, but through practice, expression, and engagement in meaningful real-life contexts. It aims to empower each participant to see themselves not merely as a language learner, but as a creator of meaningful messages, a source of ideas, and a confident and engaging communicator.

Course Objective

By the end of this program, participants will:
• Use Modern Standard Arabic in real communicative situations through listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Understand age-appropriate texts and media clips, then respond to them in clear and correct Arabic.
• Produce creative Arabic texts, including short stories, reflective pieces, descriptive writing, essays and short scripts.
• Build structured dialogue and present ideas in Arabic before an audience, camera and microphone with confidence and presence.
• Formulate simple media ideas in Arabic and turn them into audio or visual content.
• Apply the values of honesty, accuracy and responsibility when using Arabic for expression and content creation.
• Present a final language-and-media project that reflects their development in Arabic through writing, speaking and performance.

• Arabic for Communication and Comprehension:
- Use Modern Standard Arabic in real communicative situations.

• Arabic in the Final Project:
- Apply language and media skills in a practical project.
- Produce language-and-media content that reflects participants’ development.
