Course Description
The digital age imposed many variables on the way media and journalists work, as well as on the mechanisms of dealing with news sources and methods of publishing. These variables imposed new ethical questions that were not previously asked. This course is based on providing journalists with the knowledge and practical aspects that enable them to deal with the new changes imposed by the digital age in an ethical manner that does not contradict the basic principles of journalism, and helps them deal with the new ethical dilemmas imposed by these platforms.
Course Objective
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
• Be committed to the ethics of journalistic work on social media.
• Dealing professionally with ethical challenges posed by digital platforms.
• Understand how the algorithms of social media platforms work to avoid the negative impact they have on journalistic work.
• Possess a set of tools that help adhere to professionalism on social media.
• Dealing with User Generated Content (UGC) professionally to avoid falling into the trap of spreading fake news.
