“Media for Development” offered 7 courses to develop Journalist in Syria

Onset of this year, Al Jazeera Media Institute launched a specialized training programs in Syria, targeting journalists and students of media/ mass communication interested in developing their media skills and enhancing their professional capabilities.

Within the framework of this project, "Media for Development" program held seven specialized training courses during the last period joined by more than 100 students and journalists. These courses varied as follow: Three in the field of news verification, two courses in professional safety, in addition to two courses namely, television reporter skills, and press report writing.

These programs were presented by a group of trainers, namely: Trainer Mahmoud Al-Adam, Trainer Ibrahim Saber, and Trainer Maan Al-Khader, where they transferred their expertise to trainees in fields of news monitoring, verification methods, fieldwork skills and journalistic writing techniques.

A number of trainees expressed their positive impressions and satisfaction with content of courses, as trainee Fadi Ahmed confirmed that he has acquired skills in news monitoring using modern techniques and tools that helped him in verifying images and videos, suggesting offering advanced courses in this field to expand trainees’ benefit and deepen their experience.
It is worth mentioning that during this year, the Institute offered more than 30 specialized training courses in Syria in order to enhance efficiency of media workers and provide them with the basic required tools for contemporary media.
