AJMI concludes “Art of public speaking” course in English language

AJMI – Doha
Al Jazeera Media Institute concluded last week, a course on public speaking skills in English language, presented by trainer Amna Kinder for thirteen trainees of diverse backgrounds. The course focused on enhancing confidence and developing ability to express oneself and communicate effectively in international media environments.
Kinder explained that her goal, from the beginning, was to enable participants to overcome the dread of standing in front of others and to reverse it to a moment of pride and success. She pointed out that the five training days included practical techniques for organizing ideas, controlling voice and body language, and integrating impactful stories. She stressed that diversity of participants contributed to enriching discussions and making exercises real opportunities for joint learning.
She added that "Public speaking” is a life-changing skill, as it is a key to success in everyday meetings, presentations and conversations. It is also deeply linked to Al Jazeera's mission to give voice to vulnerable in order to deliver the truth and challenging the most horrific crimes in our world, especially in Gaza and Palestine. As the stronger our ability to express ourselves clearly and confidently, the greater our ability to serve this message. My advice to participants and to anyone who wants to improve his skills is to keep training, and to talk whenever the opportunity arises, even in small and informal situations. But be honest in your message because people will connect more deeply with honesty and keep it in their memory."
It is noteworthy that Al Jazeera Media Institute has so far held ten specialized courses in English language for almost 90 trainees of different nationalities, as a part of its efforts to develop media skills among English-speaking public.
