Al Jazeera Media Institute hosted last week a delegation of post graduate students at the University of Marburg, Germany, in a visit aiming at creating cultural ties and exchange of knowledge between academic and media institutions.
The two-day visit witnessed a comprehensive introductory tour to all Institute’s facilities and a short brief on Institute's leading services. The delegation was introduced to the various training programs and knowledge stock produced by the Institute such as the Press Magazine, various publications, e-educational courses, Arabic language courses in addition to meetings with different groups of experts and trainers of the Institute.
During the visit, Media Initiatives Department held a series of interactive workshops focusing on reality of journalism in digital age and importance of adhering to professional ethics, in addition to highlighting Western media's coverage to the war on Gaza and shortcomings associated with this coverage, which ignites a hot discussion on the role of the media in reporting facts.
This visit represents the vision of Al Jazeera Media Institute's to strengthen its partnerships with academic institutions around the world and consolidate its position as a platform for production of professional and academic knowledge in the field of journalism.
