AJMI hosts students from International Leaders School to enhance their media skills

Al Jazeera Media Institute welcomed, at its headquarters in Doha, ten talented students from International Leaders School, accompanied by their supervisors, in a field visit aimed at introducing them to the world of media and its diverse fields.

Students toured Radio studio, where they were introduced to stages of preparing and presenting programs Radio programs. Then they moved to Television studio where they have the opportunity of practicing standing in front of camera where they closely understand different components of studio and roles of production team, including directors, cameramen, and producers.

The visit focused on practical aspects, to give students a chance to examine their presenting skills in both radio and television studios and to learn essential steps of preparation before reading scripts or news bulletins. Students were slightly introduced to importance of body language for presenters. Hands-on training took up most of the visit time, in order to give students an inspiring and direct insight into media world.

The students expressed their happiness with this experience; as student Taim Babakerd described the visit as “an enjoyable one,” while student Lynn Majid expressed her wish to become a TV presenter in the future. Lynn, along with Bara’a and Mohammed, affirmed that the visit “added greatly to their knowledge and experience.”
This visit is part of Al Jazeera Media Institute’s corporate social responsibility programs, which aim to introduce young generations to media professions and inspire them to embark on creative experiences in this field.
