Aljazeera e-Learning launches a new course on its English interface

Al Jazeera e-learning platform has launched a new course on its English interface titled "Fact Checking" presented by investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker Sarah Creta.
The course highlights the importance of fact-checking and the role a journalist plays in countering disinformation.
The instructor says in its introduction to the course "In a world full of information, it is essential to know how to distinguish between what is true and what is false". She also points stressed the importance of asking fundamental questions such as: Who is the source? And is it reliable? And what makes it reliable?
In the same context, she explains that sources of information may vary according to their type, but there are basic criteria for verification such as accuracy, context, transparency and credibility.
The course includes ten lessons covering various aspects of knowledge and skills of the fact-checking process, in addition to interactive tests at the end of each lesson to measure the impact and quality of learning process and to ensure to what extent learners are able to use course content shared by the trainer.
