Ms. Iman Al Amri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, received Mrs. Odette Yidi David, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the State of Qatar, on an introductory visit aimed at exploring Institute’s programs, training services and technical facilities. The visit was marked by openness and a shared interest in media experiences, with discussions highlighting the role of training in building more professional journalism capable of understanding diverse contexts.

Ms. Al Amri welcomed the visit as a step toward broader human and professional engagement, noting that the Institute consistently opens its doors to cross-cultural experiences that foster dialogue and expand opportunities for collaborative media work beyond traditional frameworks.

During her tour, the Ambassador was introduced to Institute’s training tracks in journalism and digital media, as well as its integrated work environment that combines theoretical learning with practical application in line with the latest professional standards.

For her part, the Ambassador praised the Institute’s advanced level, affirming that its offerings reflect a clear commitment to preparing a new generation of journalists capable of delivering high-quality work grounded in strong professional ethics.

She added that the current phase presents wide opportunities to enhance media and cultural cooperation, emphasizing importance of building channels for dialogue and mutual understanding among peoples, contributing to shared values and greater harmony and peace.

The Ambassador also expressed her admiration for technical facilities and infrastructure of the Institute, noting that what she observed reflects a high level of professionalism that reinforces its position as a “leading Institute” for media training in the region. She further expressed her aspiration to develop future partnerships with media outlets and journalists in Colombia and with Al Jazeera Media Institute, in a way that promotes exchange of expertise and opens new avenues for cooperation between both sides.
