Evidence-based narrative skills: Advanced course in Istanbul

Al Jazeera Media Institute held a training course on Building evidence-based stories in Istanbul, within the framework of Media for Development Initiative activities, and in partnership with the Tafnid platform, during the period from 24 to 25th. of May.
This course focused on empowering participants with skills of building journalistic narrative based on data and data verification, in a way that enhances production of media content based on evidence and reliable sources and at the same time responds to requirements of responsible development media. Given that the course was held for 23 male and female trainees form different Arab nationalities.
The course was characterized by positive interaction from participants, as it combines between practical exercises and in-depth discussions on best practices for creating impactful stories.
Trainees expressed their satisfaction with course content and presentation methods, praising sincere efforts of the Institute and its effective partnerships for developing capabilities of Arab media professionals. In this context, trainee Ali Al-Muhaimeed said: Although the course lasted only two days, but its benefit is great and tangible, all thanks to Al Jazeera Institute and Taffeed platform, and to my fellow participants for the atmosphere of learning and cooperation that prevailed during the course.
This course is part of a series of specialized programs aimed to enhance the role of media as a tool for development and positive change, by training Arab media cadres on effective narrative tools based on facts.
