Al Jazeera Media Institute provides the opportunity for Syrian journalists to enroll, free of charge, in two courses on "Professional Safety for Journalists", in the framework of "Media for Development" program.

Both courses will be held in the Syrian capital, Damascus, first one from August 2nd. to 4th.  while the second from August 5th.  to 7th., the two courses aim to enable journalists to assess potential risks during field coverage, and provide them with practical strategies for dealing with security physical and psychological threats they might face in their journalistic missions, whether in stable or high stress environments.

Enrollment conditions: Applicant must not have received previous training in the field of professional safety or any course from the Aljazeera Media Institute, must have spent two years in his journalistic career. Given that preference will be given to field reporters, taking into account geographical diversity of applicants of different Syrian governorates.

This initiative comes within the framework of the Institute's commitment to supporting media professionals in conflict zones and to enhance their ability to perform their professional duties safely and efficiently, in order to protect lives and to preserve freedom of journalistic work.
