Media for Development Initiatives, a part of Al Jazeera Media Institute, is organising a scriptwriting workshop in Istanbul from 19th to 23rd November 2023.

The workshop addresses important aspects such as the technique of cinematic screenplay writing. Participants will also be introduced to a range of concepts and gain insights from shared practical experiences on scriptwriting, in collaboration with a group of workshop attendees.

Moreover, attendees will learn how to conceive an idea, script a film and the steps of film construction, as well as how to craft a film's atmosphere, outline plots and scenes, structure scenes and write dialogues.

Upon completion of the course, a special group will be established with the trainer for those who have successfully passed the course. This is intended to monitor their work and form a network of individuals interested in cinema to collaborate amongst themselves.

Those who reside in Istanbul can participate in this workshop. It is aimed at those who wish to hone and refine their skills, review their tools or have had a lingering idea and are seeking support to put it into writing.
