During the current month of August, Al Jazeera Media Institute's e-learning platform launched a new course titled "Open Source Investigations".

Trainer Sarah Creta, a journalist who has produced investigations in human rights violations, takes us on a journey that mixes theory with practice.

The journey starts by an introduction to elements that must be available in open source investigations, metadata and its importance in this type of investigation, how to plan a successful investigation using the Internet, how to verifying companies and trust funds in safe havens, tracking movement of ships and aircraft. And finally how to possess other skills needed by everyone who wants to go in this field.
