Within the framework of Omani Press Forum, held in Dhofar Governorate from the 2 to the 5 of September, Al Jazeera Media Institute and Oman Journalists Association signed on Tuesday evening a memorandum of cooperation that aims to develop and qualify Omani journalists in various media fields.

In this context, Mrs. Iman Al Ameri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, expressed her happiness for signing this memorandum, noting that the relationship between the two parties is not new, and that there has been continuous cooperation for some time in various fields.

The Director of the Institute said: "We are pleased with this cooperation, which will contribute to enhancing efficiency of media professionals and journalists by designing integrated training programs commensurate with the needs of Omani Journalists Association."

She added: "This partnership between Al Jazeera Institute and Oman Journalists Association is not born at this moment but it’s an extension of fruitful and continuous cooperation over the past years, and we look forward to reaping the fruits of this joint cooperation for the benefit of the Oman Journalists Association and enhancing media efficiency in general in the Sultanate."

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Al Araimi, Director of t Oman Journalists Association, said: "We are pleased to sign this memorandum with Al Jazeera Media Institute, one of the leading institutions in the field of media training and development, not only at the Gulf level, but also at the regional level."

He stressed that this memorandum opens cooperative horizons between the association and the institute due to the distinguished expertise of Al Jazeera Institute in all types of new media, so it is a memorandum with positive effects and we will work to strengthen it in the coming period. The director of the Omani Journalists Association also pointed out that the memorandum will provide several areas of cooperation, and at the same time expressed his aspiration for greater and fruitful cooperation between the two institutions.

It is worth mentioning that the Oman Journalists Association is one of the most prominent media entities in the Sultanate of Oman, playing a pivotal role in supporting and developing media and journalistic sector.

This memorandum reflects the continuous commitment of both parties to promote and develop media sector and to provide the best training programs to support journalistic cadres, paving the way for more achievements and successes in the future.
