Winners of Global Investigative Journalism Conference Fellowship in Kuala Lumpur

The Al Jazeera Media Institute has announced the names of winners of Global Investigative Journalism Conference Fellowship (#GIJC2025), set to take place in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, from November 20th. to 24th.
The fellowship was awarded to Rahma Hussein, Heba Abdelkader Al-Kul, Heba Abdelazim, Muhannad Salahat, Dlovan Mohammed Saleh and Samah Garsalli. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in the conference alongside journalists and investigative journalism enthusiasts from around the world.
As part of the fellowship, the recipients have to write three articles for the “Journalism Magazine” of Al Jazeera, highlighting the key themes of the conference. They will also have to prepare two video summaries of selected sessions to be published on the magazine’s official website.
The fellowship targeted journalists working across various media sectors, with requirements including specialization in investigative or data journalism, completion of an investigative report within the past six months, in addition to proficiency in English language.
The program is organized with the support of the Al Jazeera Media Institute in partnership with the Global Investigative Journalism Network, targeting to promote professional exchange and strengthening the presence of Arab investigative journalism on the international stage.
