AJMI receives 2 delegations from Georgetown University for a dialogue Session and practical Workshop

Last Thursday, Al Jazeera Media Institute welcomed two delegations of 22 students from Georgetown University. One delegation participated in an interactive dialogue session covering various horizons of media, while the second delegation joined a practical workshop that focused on skills of professional news reading in the studio. This initiative represents a part of the Institute's efforts to enhance knowledge communication and support fresh media generations.
The first session wasan interactive dialogue discussion with female students studying Arabic language where Ms. Eman Al Ameri, Director of the Institute, began the meeting by welcoming attendees and giving a comprehensive presentation on services of the Institute and itsmedia initiatives. The discussion was enriched by participation of Mr. Mohamed Ahdad, Mohamed Zeidan, Mohamed Khamaysa, and May Shigenbu, where the session covered a wide range of topics such as: The role of Press Magazine and Al Jazeera Fellowship indeveloping researchers, in addition to shedding light onthe important role of the publications and e-learning platform of the Institute in developing and supporting professionality and knowledge of female students.
The session also shed light on the impact of media at Arab and regional levels, allowing students to delve into current media issues, understanding challenges and changes in the media landscape, as well as discussing challenges facing journalism, artificial intelligence techniques and media leadership skills.
The second delegation joined " Al Jazeera Ambassadors " initiative in a practical workshop on Television Presentation, moderated by Sama Al-Saabi from Al Jazeera Mubasher channel. The workshop included practical exercises on body language skills, proper language control, dealing with text reading techniques via Auto-cue, in addition to abiding by directives of news director professionally and flexibly. Each trainee also had the opportunity to read live bulletin and receiving immediate corrective feedback in order to develop his readiness for media work.
Both visits reflected a remarkable interaction of students, who expressed their appreciation and satisfaction of practical content and professional information they obtained, stressing their positive impact on developing their abilities and readiness for media work, and the importance of these experiences to their academic and professional careers.
These visits come in the context of Al Jazeera Media Institute's keenness to consolidate its position as a professional incubator for media professionals in Arab world and world at large, in accordance with the highest quality and credibility standards, and to maximize outcome of participants to meet challenges of contemporary media and to keep pace with its rapid developments.
