Bio

Dr. Mohamed El Bakkali holds a PhD in Media Sociology; he currently works as correspondent for Al Jazeera - Europe, and lives in Paris. Before joining Al Jazeera team, he held several positions as correspondent in Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Sudan and southern Sudan covering various events, including Secession of South Sudan, Revolution in Tunisia and War in Libya, along with many other major events in Europe in the recent years. Academically, he is a lecturer and researcher in media field in French and Arab universities. Recently, he published a book entitled: sual almihniat wal'iidyulujia fi alsahafa (Arabic Edition).

• 2003-2006: Journalist at the Moroccan News Agency (MAP). • 2002-2006: Correspondent for Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper - Rabat. • 2006-2007: Journalist at Al Jazeera - Doha. • 2007-2010: Correspondent for Al Jazeera - Morocco. • 2010-2011: Correspondent for Al Jazeera - Sudan. • 2011-2014: Correspondent for Al Jazeera - Tunis. • From 2014: Correspondent for Al Jazeera – Paris.
