Bio
An Eritrean novelist and writer, whose novels have won wide acclaim, Hajji Jaber has a number of published works. His novel "Samrawit" won the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2012, while "Marsa Fatima" was published in 2013 and translated into Italian. He has also authored other novels such as "Spindle Game" and "Black Foam," which won the Katara Award for Arabic Narrative in 2019, as well as "Rambo the Abyssinian." Currently, Hajji Jaber is collaborating with a group of Eritrean writers on a novelistic project that focuses on the past and present of Eritrea. The goal is to reveal the cultural heritage of the country to the world in an attempt to lift it out of cultural isolation and establish its presence on the world cultural map.
