Mariam Oubaiche is a prominent journalist at Al Jazeera, having joined the network in 2002. She has spent many years working at the channel’s headquarters in Doha, contributing to the newsroom and producing daily reports for news bulletins. She has also played a key role in major political programs such as Behind the News, The Stream of the Revolution, The Harvest, and others. Mariam has served as a correspondent in multiple countries and regions, particularly in Iraq and Syria during times of war. Her focus in conflict zones has consistently centered on human stories and the impact of war on civilians. Before joining Al Jazeera, she spent over seven years as a field reporter for Algerian Television, covering domestic and international events in countries including India, Germany, France, Russia, Nigeria, and the United States.
Experience
- She has participated in several lectures to share her journalistic experience with Al Jazeera, particularly in conflict zones. - She contributed alongside Al Jazeera’s leading journalists to the preparation of two books: Television Journalism in the Al Jazeera Experience and Al Jazeera Tells Its Story: Experiences and Challenges. She also contributed an article to the first issue of the redesigned Qatar Red Crescent Magazine, focusing on coverage of refugee and displacement stories in war-torn areas.
