Bio
Elsi Abi Assi is a journalist and news anchor with over 20 years of experience, combining field reporting and studio work. She joined Al Jazeera in 2006 and has covered major global events. Since October 7, she has been known for hosting "Gaza: What’s Next?" and "The Course of Events", alongside continuous coverage of the war. In 2024, she led the U.S. presidential election coverage from Washington, following her coverage of the midterm elections in 2022. She has conducted numerous interviews with prominent figures and reported on key events, including the Paris attacks (2015) and the Crimea crisis (2014), in addition to covering the Syrian revolution and its impact on Lebanon.
