- A brief description of the development of AI technologies and how they are beginning to impact newsroom processes.
- The growth - and limitations - of generative AI software applications such as ChatGPT, Google Bard, Dall-E, Midjourney.
- Low risk and high-risk AI applications in the newsroom.

• AI Applications in media organizations:
- Uses of AI currently in media organisations around the world.
- Processes and tasks currently performed by journalists will benefit from the use of generative AI.

• The risks of AI:
- Inherent biases in training data and how they impact AI outputs.
- The problems of transparency
- Copyright and media organisations’ changing approach to licensing content for AI developers.

- Common mistakes and misrepresentations made when reporting on the development of AI.

• The need for an ethical newsroom policy on the use of AI in journalism:
