Course Description
Weather presenters serve as the bridge between complex meteorological data and the public. Their ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and effectively is instrumental in keeping individuals and communities safe and informed. In this course, participants will have the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver accurate and engaging weather forecasts. It will give them the skills to analyze weather data, understand essential weather variables, and present them effectively.
Course Objective
By the end of this course, participants will:
• Provide accurate information and interpret weather data.
• Prepare a weather report and present it efficiently.
• Use effective presentation techniques.
Course Outline
• Introduction to meteorology:
- Basics of meteorology.
- Weather data sources and forecasting models.
- Role and responsibilities of a weather presenter.
• Meteorological data interpretation:
- Analyze weather data.
- Key weather variables: temperature, humidity, wind, and pressure.
- Weather patterns and phenomena.
• Weather report preparation:
- Select appropriate images, videos, or graphics.
- Select key weather events to discuss.
- Prepare weather reports.
- Weather presentation software and tools.
• Live weather presenting:
- Effective on-camera presence and body language.
- Live broadcasts and manage unexpected situations.
- Effective communication with the team during broadcasts.
