Prerequisites

• Practical experience with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or similar professional editing software.
• Completion of one of the following courses is preferred: Basics of Premiere Pro / Basics of Final Cut Pro / Basics of DaVinci Resolve, or foundational knowledge of the tools and functions of any of these programs.

Course Description

Video editing is the process of transforming raw footage into a compelling, cohesive, and meaningful visual story. This course aims to introduce participants to the fundamentals of video editing using specialized tools and software, while enhancing their skills in organizing clips, applying audio and visual effects, and integrating multimedia. Throughout the course, participants will learn the step-by-step process of video editing, from start to final output, including arranging clips, applying visual and audio effects, and combining multimedia elements.

• Introduction to video editing:
- Tools and software used in video editing.
- Types of media files (video and audio) and the basics of importing and exporting these files.
- Fundamentals of arranging clips and setting in and out points.
- Understand shot sizes and angles.
- Understand the stages of editing and the nature of each stage.
- Interface of editing software and basic editing tools.

• Composition and organizing clips:
- How to arrange clips within the timeline.
- Cutting techniques and transitions between clips.
- How to use layers to merge different clips.
- Control video speed.

• Add audio and visual effects:
- Background music, sound effects, and dialogue.
- Types of video cuts and audio cuts.
- Noise removal and audio level adjustment.
- Techniques for using video effects.
- Manipulate lighting and colors.

• Add multimedia:
- Integrate multimedia with video.
- Merge video clips and still images.
- Color correction techniques and achieve visual balance.
- Add advanced transitions and special effects.
