Course Description
This course offers an introduction to the role of artificial intelligence in journalistic work, with a focus on how to use it professionally and responsibly. The course highlights key practical applications of smart tools in newsrooms, along with the ethical considerations that must be observed when producing or reviewing AI-generated content.
Course Objective
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
• Discuss the concept of artificial intelligence, its types, and its most important journalistic applications.
• Use AI tools with awareness and responsibility.
• Apply journalistic ethics when working with artificial intelligence.

• Principles of AI in media work:
- Define artificial intelligence and its types relevant to media.
- Journalistic use cases within newsrooms.
- Enhance workflow efficiency and use appropriate tools to accelerate editorial tasks.
• Responsible use of AI tools:
- Verify information and avoid full reliance on automated outputs.
- Ensure accuracy and appl human review before publishing.
- Understand the limitations of AI tools—what they can and cannot do.
• Journalism ethics in the age of AI:
- Transparency and disclosure when using AI tools when necessary.
- Protect privacy and handle data and images ethically.
- Combat disinformation and apply mechanisms to reduce fake or misleading content.
