Prerequisites

• A university degree in media, public relations, or human science.
• Media experience, preferably working in presentation or media fields.
• Completion of Media Presence or Meet the Press courses.

Course Description

Reaching or getting close to charisma in order to reach the power of influence sought by any official spokesperson, or a speaker to the media or in front of the public, requires an understanding of the art of media performance, which means presenting a live or recorded performance in a specific place and time in front of the audience or listeners, in which the image or the body of the performer and the content interact and harmonize to express feelings and ideas in order to reach the maximum degree of influence.

Course Objective

By the end of this course, participants will:
• Discuss the importance of visual language and communication in supporting media messages.
• Practice and develop media presence skills.
• Develop media communication skills and prepare for media interviews.

Course Outline

• Foundations and concepts of media presence:
- Introduction to mass communication theory.
- Visual language and spoken language and the relationship between them.
- Analysis of whether charisma and influence are talents or acquired qualities.

• Media skills:
- Distinguish between speaking in public, speaking as a spokesperson, and speaking in the media.
- Voice control skills when addressing audiences and appearing on camera.
- Body language in front of the camera versus in front of live audiences, and the differences between the two.
- Overcoming stress and stage fright.

• Effective communication skills:
- Preparation and the importance of the media team.
- Interview, its types, and its objectives.
- Effective handling of any situation and any media platform.
- Prepare press releases and manage press conferences.
