Course Objective

• Ability to shoot and edit using mobile phone/ smartphones.
• Knowledge of broadcasting a small/short media product on a mobile phone/ smartphone.

Course Outline

• Brief introduction (in 15 minutes): Why do we use mobile phone in the media sector? Is the phone an alternative to traditional coverage methods?
• The world of Android and IOS: Common features.
• Analysis of live examples of videos made/edited using smartphones.
• Practical and technical introduction to mobile journalism.
• Explore options, possibilities and available technologies:
• Image recording (variable focal length lenses)
• Custom camera stand and audio recording microphones

 Content Preparation and Photography Skills:
• Image and video composition/editing using smartphones.
• Shooting and editing/montage of a press statement.
• Capture videos to compose/edit a press statement.
• Editing a statement or an interview on videos.
• Montage press statement or interview on photographs.
• Add audio/voice, comment and music.
• How to produce and export the project from montage and choose the final format.
