As part of its strategy to reach wider segments of media professionals and those interested in developing their media skills in different regions around the world, Al Jazeera Media Institute is organizing “Podcast Preparation and Presentation” training course in Turkey from August 18 to 22, in cooperation with Data Academy for Training and Development.

The course will be delivered by trainer Uqba Al-Ramma, and will focus on theoretical concepts and practical applications of podcasting art which has become an influential global phenomenon in digital media industry.

The course includes several themes, most notably: introduction to podcast basics and components, audio recording and editing techniques and mechanisms used to transform podcast into a successful media and commercial project.

The course aims to enable participants to produce an integrated professional podcast, starting from content preparation to publishing, with special focus on the role of smartphones in the wide spread of this type of media.

As the course falls under the category of digital media skills, it targets those who have academic or practical experience in media, as well as those interested in technology and online broadcasting.

Such courses aim to expand the positive impact of Al Jazeera Media Institute and to provide an opportunity for more media professionals to develop their skills, especially those who do not have the opportunity of attending training in Doha. These courses and programs also enable young people to acquire modern media tools.

It is noteworthy that Uqba Al-Ramma is a producer and presenter of the “Geography game program”, which is shown on “Atheer platform” Al Jazeera. He is also the founder and senior writer of “Meydan video project” at Al Jazeera Network, and has produced several programs for Aljazeera O2. Al-Ramma has trained many journalists and university students in cooperation with several media and academic institutions.
