 AJMI Organizes a training workshop for Al-Mujadila Center and Mosque

The Al Jazeera Media Institute organized a training workshop under the title “Islamophobia Countering Skills” for the benefit of Al-Mujadila: Women’s Center and Mosque, affiliated with Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, as a part of the activities of Aljazeera Ambassadors initiative.

The workshop was delivered by journalist Osama Javed to 18 female trainees from different nationalities. It covered key topics such as the concept of Islamophobia, importance of language and framing, as well as strategies to counter misleading narratives about Islam and Muslims. The workshop also included discussion session on perspectives toward Islamophobia and the need for deep knowledge to confront incitement and smearing campaigns against Islam and Muslims.

It is worth noting that journalist Osama Javed has more than 20 years of professional experience, during which he has reported from conflict zones and political centers across the East and the West, from the United Kingdom and the United States to the Middle East and Asia. He has also covered major global events such as the rise and fall of ISIS, Taliban movement, Arab Spring and refugee crises. Furthermore, he has contributed to fostering religious understanding and interfaith coexistence through his work with organizations engaged in interfaith dialogue.
