Aljazeera Ambassadors Initiative of Aljazeera Media Institute organized 108 courses and workshops during the year 2023 in 20 Arab and non-Arab countries.
Raghda Jamal, who is responsible for the initiative, reviewed the milestones this year, saying: The number of participants in these workshops and courses reached 2,460 trainees, with 74% increase over the last year, and also the number of new titles increased to 50 different training course where the most recent ones are journalism course on laws, journalistic investigations in wartime, screenwriting, investigative journalism, story writing for young age groups, video making for social media platforms and mobile photography.
Aljazeera Ambassadors held 73 face-to-face and online training courses and 35 training workshops for young age groups, and according to Raghda this represents an increase of 38% compared to last year.
It worth mentioning that the initiative training has expanded geographically to cover Asia, Africa and Europe, namely, Switzerland, Bosnia, Turkey, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Malaysia, Lebanon, Palestine, Oman, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Nepal and the State of Qatar, according to Raghda.
Given that university students, young media professionals, amateur journalists, union workers and employees of independent media organizations are the largest beneficiaries of this initiative.
The vision of the Aljazeera Ambassadors Initiative is to convey the mission and values of Aljazeera Media Network, and to transfer the experiences and skills of its employees through free training courses to empower media talents inside and outside Arab world.
The initiative is based on volunteering principle, where a group of Aljazeera Media Network journalists contribute to train participants in all media fields and offer their expertise in the profession of journalism to help building a pioneering generation in the field of media.
