Al Jazeera Media Institute, in collaboration with Qatar University, celebrated on Thursday, 30 July, the graduation of the first cohort of Digital Media and Television Broadcasting Diplomas. The four-week intensive training program brought together 26 students from Department of Mass Communication at the College of Arts and Sciences concluded with capstone projects that truly reflect knowledge and practical skills acquired throughout the programs.

Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Eman Al Ameri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, affirmed that the two diploma programs embody a shared vision between the Institute and Qatar University, built on integrating academic knowledge with hands-on professional practice.

She noted that the experience enabled students to move beyond theoretical learning into real-world practices, strengthening their professional competencies and enhancing their ability to keep pace with the rapidly evolving media landscape.

She added that the partnership represents a model of synergy between theory and practice: while the University provides a solid academic foundation, the Institute equips students with the confidence, skills, and practical experience required to excel in media profession.

Dr. Seeta Al Athbah, Assistant Dean for Languages, Media and Translation at Qatar University's College of Arts and Sciences, highlighted that the two programs are the outcome of a partnership grounded in the belief that media education achieves its greatest impact when academic knowledge meets professional practice.

She explained that students successfully transformed their acquired knowledge into practical projects that reflected their professional readiness and prepared them for demands of job market.

She also expressed her appreciation to the leadership, trainers, and working teams at Al Jazeera Media Institute for their expertise and professionalism, which contributed significantly to the success of the programs. She described the initiative as a model for collaboration between academic and professional institutions, congratulating the graduates and wishing them continued success in their careers.

Several graduates praised the high-quality training offered in both programs, noting that the experience sharpened their practical skills, broadened their knowledge, and provided a rare opportunity to learn directly from distinguished media professionals and industry experts.

Where each diploma offered more than 120 hours of specialized training, helping prepare a new generation of media professionals equipped with knowledge, practical expertise, and strong professional values to meet the ongoing technological and industry transformations.
