AJMI concludes 4 courses on “Media Skills Development” for young people

Al Jazeera Media Institute has concluded four specialized media courses for young people attended by 55 trainees, as part of media development programs aiming at developing skills of emerging groups and providing them with practical tools that enable them to engage effectively in media field in the future.
Program courses varied between audio, photography arts and presentation skills in order to provide participants with rich and practical experience. These courses include: Voice concentration course presented by journalist Salem Al-Jahwashi attended by 13 participants, mobile photography course which trained by Iyad Al-Dawood and attended by 14 trainees, Future presenter course trained by journalist Sama Al-Saabi for 13 young people and finally, small speaker course for 15 trainees, trained by journalist Rita Khan.
In this context, presenter Samaa Al-Saabi, trainer of Future presenter course, explained that the program provides participants with rich content that includes practical training to promote reading skills, dialogue arts and discussion management, in addition to intensive training on reading news bulletins in professional manner.
Al-Saabi expressed her admiration for the advanced level shown by the participants, stressing: "What impressed me was their mastery of Arabic language despite the fact that some of them are very young, in addition to creativity and vitality that we saw in all of them." We noticed a significant development in their skills by the end of the program, and they were characterized by speedy learning and positive interaction with various training activities, which makes me more optimistic about their future in media field.
In addition to that there are still four specialized courses waiting for juniors in the evening period, including: Story writing, podcasts, theatrical performances and negotiation skills, which are designed to contribute to promoting new skills and enhance media capabilities for participants.
Trainers were selected very carefully, as they represent a group of media professionals and specialists with rich experience in media and training fields, such as journalist Ahmed Al-Malki, trainer Raghda Jamal and journalist Salem Al-Jahwashi, in order to enhances training content quality and provides participants with rich experience that realizes planned benefits of training.
These programs reflect the growing interest of the Institute in young people and its insistence to prepare them to become media professionals of the future, by providing them with necessary knowledge and skills in a stimulating and creative environment that supports their talents and contributes to building a conscious and capable generation in the media sector.
