AJMI hosts students from Japanese School in Doha

As part of its efforts to promote social responsibility, Al Jazeera Media Institute welcomed a student delegation from the Japanese School in Doha last Thursday.

The delegation included eleven students who explored real media work environment, where they visited training halls and toured both television and radio studios. The visit introduced the new generation to the world of media, its required skills and its vital role in shaping public awareness.

Students showed great excitement during the tour and expressed their happiness with what they saw and learned. The school administration praised the quality and professionalism of the experience. Likewise, the students described the visit as enjoyable and enriching, as it enhanced their understanding of media technologies and behind-the-scenes processes of program production.

The students also practiced live television presentation under the supervision of Mei Shigenobu, editor and journalist at Al Jazeera Media Institute, in both chroma studio and news studio. Each student was given the opportunity to present a short introductory segment on camera, which represents a valuable hands-on learning experience.

The visit also included interactive discussions between the students and the Media Initiatives Management team about the future of traditional media amid digital advancement. The team expressed admiration for students’ awareness and understanding they demonstrated throughout the discussion.
