AJMI launched 7 “Learning Arabic” courses

AJMI - Doha

The Al Jazeera Media Institute's Arabic Language Learning Programme launched seven courses in January, with 57 students taking part. The 10-week courses develop participants' conversational Arabic skills, covering topics appropriate to their level. Beginners discuss personal interests and identities, while advanced learners explore political, social, and cultural issues.

The programme offers six levels. Before joining, participants are interviewed to assess their skills and ensure they are placed correctly.

Teaching follows a flipped classroom approach. Students would complete exercises before class, then use the classroom time to practise what they have learned at home. Instead of lecturing, the teacher guides students and encourages accurate Arabic practice.

Trainers have advanced teaching skills, enabling them to tailor the curriculum to learners' diverse needs and goals. Participants include diplomats, entrepreneurs, staff of international and local organisations, students, and foreign residents in Arab countries.
