AJMI – Doha
As part of its ongoing efforts to teach and spread Arabic language among non-native speakers around the world, Al Jazeera Media Institute launched eight new courses within its “Learn Arabic” program. These courses covered five levels, from beginner to advanced, with a total participation of 93 students from 38 nationalities across various continents.
This semester also included two specialized courses for Al Jazeera Network employees, as part of the institute’s plan to enhance the use of Arabic language in media work in the Network. Before launching courses, the team conducted individual interviews to assess learners’ levels and preferences. Based on information collected, the team customized special learning experiences for some participants to meet their needs. A specialized course in academic Arabic was also introduced in response to learners' requests.
It is worth noting that enrollment for the upcoming winter semester, which begins on January 7, 2026, is now open, continuing the program’s mission to serve Arabic language and build cultural and media bridges among people worldwide.
This semester witnessed great diversity in participants’ backgrounds and professional fields. The courses brought together doctors, diplomats, human rights activists, and professionals working in energy, engineering, education, and media within and outside the Gulf region, in addition to students, merchants, and teachers. American, British, and Pakistani nationalities topped the list of participants, reflecting the increasing global reach of the program and the growing interest it receives worldwide.
