AJMI - Doha

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Al Jazeera Media Institute has declared enrollment for " Art of Photographing Children – Garangao," course which will be presented by photographer Mohammed Al-Awadi. The course which belongs to “Photography and Creativity Skills” category, will be held from March 1 to 5 under. It targets photography enthusiasts and those seeking to refine their portrait photography styles, with a special focus on childhood photography and the celebrations of Garangao Night.

Trainer Mohammed Al-Awadi emphasized that excellence in this course goes beyond children photography to establishing solid foundations in portrait photography in general. He noted that the distinctive feature of the course lies in children photography according to professional portrait photography rules, with highly refined lighting distribution. The techniques taught can be applied to all types of portrait photography, making the course valuable for anyone aspiring to master capturing human faces. He added that the course also includes a dedicated part on professional photo editing, retouching and enhancement, particularly for portrait images.

The course highlights one of the most delicate and captivating fields of photography, children’s photography, an area filled with challenges, yet considered among the purest and most beautiful forms of photographic art. Its difficulty lies in capturing a rare and fleeting moment during a rapidly changing stage of life, with personalities that vary from one child to another. This requires the photographer to develop a unique and tailored approach each time when working with a child in front of the camera. Training sessions will be held in the evening, enabling amateur and professional photographers, as well as students, to benefit from the practical part of the course alongside their daily commitments.

By the end of the course, participants are expected to master fundamentals of photography, professionally engage with children during sessions, and capturing distinctive portrait images that reflect each child’s personality. The curriculum includes an introduction to photography basics and visual composition, understanding children’s characteristics and managing their movement and focus, in addition to practical applications for children’s photography, techniques for capturing decisive moments, and helping children appear natural in front of camera.

Al Jazeera Media Institute invites those interested in developing their children’s photography skills for Garangao to register through its online platform to secure a seat in a course that combines both artistic and practical dimensions, from the moment of capturing the image to its full readiness for publication.
