AJMI new courses: Preparing content for digital media platforms
AJMI - Doha
Al Jazeera Media Institute is going to launch in September a new course on “Content preparation for Digital Media Platforms”.
This course, held for the first time, targets those interested in improving their journalistic writing skills and learning modern digital writing techniques.
Writing is the origin of any media content and experience has proven that every media outlet that appeared came with a specific writing style that suits its technical nature first, and the nature of its audience in the second place. Based on this perception, this course opens trainees’ eyes to the basic fact that journalistic writing is not a single separated art, but to a great extent it is connected to media quality.
The course will enable trainees to learn and understand writing tools and writing methods for digital media platforms based on practical and hand-on practices, in order to enable trainees to distinguish the difference between writing for different digital platforms, using digital writing techniques, and mastering building digital content for digital communication platforms.
Course topics include journalistic writing of all kinds, such as writing for pictures and the difference between writing for the newspaper and writing for the radio, in addition to writing for digital media platforms. The course also addresses writing for digital platforms, including the concept of digital media, writing for websites, and writing in a style that improves visibility in search engines. Finally, the course addresses building distinctive digital content, such as text on social media platforms, importance of image on social media platforms and the role of infographics in digital content.
To enroll in this course, applicants must have at least a high school diploma and preferably university degree. It is also preferred to have practical experience in digital media field.
