Al Jazeera Media Institute launches Weather Forecast Broadcaster course

Al Jazeera Media Institute is going to launch a new training course titled: Weather Forecast Broadcaster, during the period from 6 to 10 October 2024.
The course aims to qualify trainees to work as weather forecasters, as they play an important role in simplifying and clarifying complex meteorological data to audience.
Course trainees will acquire the necessary skills to analyze weather data and understand basic variables in order to present weather information with clarity and efficiency.
The course covers many themes but the most important ones focus on: introduction to basics of meteorology, identifying sources of weather data and forecast models, clarifying the role and responsibilities of weather broadcaster. In addition to that trainees will learn how to analyze weather data, understand main weather variables such as temperature, humidity, wind, pressure, in addition to weather patterns and phenomena. Weather forecast preparation topic includes selection of appropriate images, videos or drawings, identifying the most prominent weather events, weather reports preparation, in addition to identifying the best programs and tools for display. Trainees will also be trained on effective camera presence, body language, dealing with unexpected events during live broadcast and effective communication with the team.
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to interpretate weather data and provide accurate information, skillfully prepare and present weather forecast and effectively use display techniques.
To enroll in this course, applicants are required to have a university degree in media and at least one year of media experience for nom-media graduates. In addition to that, having attended "Introduction to TV Presentation" course is a prerequisite for all applicants.
