Al Jazeera Media Institute participates in “My Career – My Future” Program

As part of Al Jazeera Ambassadors program, Al Jazeera Media Institute launched an introductory TV presentation workshop for 12 male and female trainees. Led by journalist Mohammed Shabrawi, the workshop was held as part of the eighth edition of the “My Career – My Future” as a professional simulating program, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to sharing professional media expertise with young people.

The Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute Iman Al Ameri was honored in the final ceremony of the eighth edition of “My Career – My Future”, a professional simulating program, organized by Qatar Career Development Center from 2 to 6 August. The program was held in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Sports and Youth, and Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
This recognition hailed the Institute’s participation in the program and valued its contribution to introducing students to media environment and essential skills required for media careers. It also reflects the Institute’s commitment to supporting initiatives that bring young people closer to professional career paths and give them first-hand insight into the nature of media work through practical experience.
The workshop, held at the Institute’s premises, focused on a range of basic skills required for television presenters, including declamation, body language and dealing with the camera. Given that practical exercises provided participants with the opportunity to experience TV presentations in a training environment designed to simulate a professional television setting.
Trainee Yahya Al-Shamayleh said the workshop taught him that television production is an integrated system in which every role works in concert, with each position carrying its own distinct responsibilities and challenges, from the presenter and sound engineer to the director and the rest of control-room team. He added that the workshop strengthened his public-speaking and presentation skills and reinforced his conviction that continued learning and training are essential to progressing in the field.
