Best practices in digital transformation course in collaboration with Government Communications Office and Google News

Al Jazeera Media Institute, in cooperation with Government Communications Office in the State of Qatar and Google News Initiative, organized a training course under the title “Best Practices in Digital Transformation”.

The course was attended by a significant number of colleagues from Al Jazeera network channels and sectors, news managers, media professionals and officials in media outlets in the State of Qatar.

Mrs. Eman Al Ameri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, expressed her pleasure for cooperating with the Government Communications Office and Google News Initiative to organize this training day, which support and reinforce the Institute's commitment to develop skills of journalists and empowering them in digital field through such initiatives that seek to provide workers in the field with the latest tools and technologies, and enhancing awareness of professional ethics in the era of artificial intelligence.

Al Ameri continued: "Our vision goes beyond keeping pace with technical developments only, as we aspire to be at the forefront of a responsible and influential digital media transformation that serves the truth and promotes effective communication with the public.

Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of Government Communications Office, said: "The State of Qatar pays an increasing importance to the development of government communication sector and media as a key pillar in building community awareness and enhancing communication with the public.

Mazen Sabbagh, Partnerships Officer, MENA News at Google, said: "The program aims to enable journalists and news managers to leverage advanced digital tools including artificial intelligence, to enhance their journalistic practices.

The aim of this training course is to train and enable government and private media organizations to use the latest digital technologies, including artificial intelligence tools, in developing their journalistic performance.
