Conclusion of short filmmaking program within the activities of Al Jazeera Ambassadors Initiative

Al Jazeera Media Institute concluded a forty hours training program on short filmmaking, within the activities of Al Jazeera Ambassadors Volunteer Initiative and in partnership with “Idrak” Short Film Festival in its third edition which was organized by the Yemeni Student Union in Istanbul under the auspices of Tawakkol Karman Foundation.
22 trainees from Yemen, Egypt, Palestine, Syria and Jordan joined this training program during the month of October, where participants praised quantity and quality of information and knowledge made available to them during the program.
Trainee Ziad Gad from Egypt says,"I advise everyone not to hesitate to join training courses of Al Jazeera Media Institute due to the great knowledge and professional skills provided in such courses. In addition to that communicating and interacting with experts awakens one’s interest and passion for cinema, I am grateful to participating in this program where my short film won the first place".
The program consists of intensive training and interactive workshops, presented by a group of trainers who transferred their rich expertise in the field of cinema. The training program started with “Creative writing” course, led by trainer Raghda Jamal and concluded by a discussion session on “Script elements” delivered by Rita Khan, Cinema program presenter, then trainees moved to photography field, where they were accompanied by trainer Muhammad Zantout, to introduce them to unique lighting techniques and angles that inject meaning and life into written script through editing with trainer Mahdi Bakka.
The program concluded with a “Direction” course presented by trainer Obada Al-Baghdadi, to enable and qualify trainees on film direction tools in order to achieve artistic vision embodied in scenarios.
