Al Jazeera Media Institute concluded in Damascus, in cooperation with Syrian International Academy, a Television Presentation course led by journalist and media professional Mohammed Krishan.

The course, attended by 13 male and female trainees from diverse media and academic backgrounds, focused on fundamentals of news and talk-show television presentation, building the base for presenter’s knowledge, techniques for preparing news bulletins and programs, in addition to practical training on on-camera performance, body language and managing television dialogue.

Trainee Hiba Abdulqader expressed her appreciation of the experience, saying: “Many thanks to Al Jazeera Media Institute for its efforts to promote Syrian media landscape. Through my experience, I’m convinced that a television presenter is all-in-all when supported by a solid journalistic knowledge base.” She also praised the course trainer, describing him as a “true teacher” who revealed what lies behind news bulletins and talk- shows in general. She added that she learned that a news bulletin is not merely a narrative to be told, but rather a research and deep exploration into what lies behind the news, numbers, statements, data and everything related to the story.

This course comes as part of Aljazeera Media Institute’s commitment to expanding its training programs beyond its main headquarters and contributing to promoting media professionals in Arab region, in cooperation with local training and academic institutions.
