Cooperation Memorandum between Al Jazeera Media Institute and ICESCO to promote global spread of Arabic language

Al Jazeera Media Institute and the ICESCO Center for Arabic for non-native speakers signed a preliminary memorandum of understanding outlining the general framework for partnership areas between the two sides. The memorandum includes development of innovative programs for teaching Arabic language, as well as organizing scientific and cultural conferences and events that contribute to supporting efforts to promote Arabic language globally.
Dr. Magdy Haj Ibrahim, Director of ICESCO Center, explained that the agreement is a result of a series of coordination meetings and repeated visits, noting that there are shared interests between the two institutions in the fields of training and Arabic language education. This paves the way for launching joint initiatives with greater impact at both the regional and international levels.
The ICESCO Center was represented at the signing of the memorandum by Dr. Magdy Haj Ibrahim, Director of the Center, and Dr. Adham Hamwiyeh, Head of Linguistic Development Department. Al Jazeera Media Institute was represented by Ms. Iman Al Ameri, Director of the Institute, Dr. Ibrahim Mansour, and Mr. Ahmed Tahseen from Arabic Learning Unit team.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in strengthening cultural and civilizational dialogue and opening wider horizons for non-Arabic speakers to acquire and master Arabic language.
